Clear Jet chooses the method for the roof, not for whatever gear is on the truck. Material, age and how heavy the growth is decide between soft washing and controlled pressure.
The right method for the roof
Terracotta, concrete tile and Colorbond
Soft washing - low pressure with a biodegradable treatment - is our default for most tile and Colorbond roofs. Controlled hot-water pressure is used with caution where heavy growth on concrete tile needs it.
A biodegradable detergent is applied as a foam so mould, sap and stains can be lifted, and stubborn lichen can be removed. Once the roof is clean, we can also seal it - ask about roof sealing when you request your quote.

We check the roof material, condition, growth and access before work begins.

Soft wash or controlled pressure is selected for the roof.

A biodegradable treatment is applied to break down moss, lichen and mould.

Build-up is lifted carefully and evenly across the roof.

Rinse and inspect
We rinse down, tidy the surrounds and inspect the finish. If roof sealing is part of your quote, it follows the clean.

Will pressure cleaning crack my tiles?
High pressure on old tiles can cause damage, which is why soft washing is our default for most tile and Colorbond roofs. We assess the roof before choosing the method.
Can you clean Colorbond roofs?
Yes. Colorbond is usually soft washed so the coating is protected.
Will the moss come back?
Regrowth depends on shade, trees and moisture. Soft washing treats growth at the root, which slows regrowth.
Do you also seal roofs?
Yes. Roof sealing is available after the roof has been cleaned. Mention it when you request a quote and we will include it in the scope.
Do you clean gutters at the same time?
Gutter cleaning can be added to a roof clean. List it when you request a quote.
Do I need to be home?
Not always. If access and water supply are confirmed beforehand, we can discuss completing the job while you are away.
